Volunteers

The Annerley Community Bookshop and Neighbourhood Centre welcomes volunteers of all ages and backgrounds. Our oldest volunteer is 80 something and our youngest is still at high school. You can volunteer as often as once a week or as infrequently as once a month - it depends on what time you have to offer.

We are always happy to discuss your particular interests and on occasions we have been approached by potential volunteers with a particular project in mind.

If you already have experience in any of the areas listed below or would like to develop experience in any of these areas then we would be very happy to hear from you:

·         Retailing

·         Books

·         Business and organisational development

·         Community development

·         Preparing submissions

·         Financial administration, accounting or book-keeping

·         Management

·         Marketing

·         Information Technology including data-bases, word processing, web page upkeep and design, POS systems

·         Promotions and publicity

If you want to develop skills in a new area, we will do our best to match you with another volunteer who already has the type of skills you are looking for.

WORK PLACEMENT AND WORK EXPERIENCE OPPORTUNITIES:

Our philosophy is to help as many people in our local community in as many ways as possible. So on occasions we offer work experience placements and specific projects to students at local high schools and TAFE's. We also provide short and long term work placements for people with special needs - and we are open to considering proposals of this type. We have had a few real success stories here !

So if you would like to come and join us why not contact us today.
